Having lost my husband to cancer seven years ago, I realise how important it is to get support from other people who have lost a husband or a wife, either because they passed away or through a divorce. I hope to form a close group of men and women who will always find a sympathetic person willing to lend an ear when needed. I intend to organise a variety of meetings such as dinners, cocktails, or just coffee, tea and yummy desserts.

Looking to meet up with other daughters in the Chicago area that have lost their mothers to a terminal illness such as cancer. There are many bereavement groups in Chicago for people that are grieving over their mom's death but almost none exist for women in their 20's, 30's, and early 40's. I just lost my mom to pancreatic cancer and want to gather other women like me that want to share experiences, memories, and friendship. Park Ridge, Arlington Heights, Palatine, Schaumburg, and Chicago are a …

EFT is a simple technique for releasing emotional blocks, stopping cravings and reducing stress. If you don't currently practice it, we can teach you. Let's try it with the focused energies of a group! For details on what EFT is there are several websites, such as Gary Craig's at http://emofree.com/ and EFT Universe at http://www.eftuniverse.com/, but here's the basic idea. While st …
We have created a group where we process some of the challenges that we are currently facing in our lives. Our group has been active for nearly five years, and everyone is welcome. We have a safe place where you can share your honesty. Your joy, sadness, anger and fear are welcome. Our group goes beyond traditional support. We have specific processes that you will learn that can assist removing blocks and discovering how to handle difficulties that used to stop you from moving forward. We have n …
This group will be an in-person Relationship / Divorce Coaching and Support group. Please note that this is NOT a "dating" or "singles" group. It is a group designed to help and support those who are divorced, separated, in a romantic relationship that is having some "bumps" and/or has just recently ended. This group will provide a place of security with a safe opportunity to open up and be fully supported....whether you want to talk and share or just listen. As certified life coaches, we have …

I am starting this group for other women like myself who are dealing with a recent divorce, menopause, anxiety, depression, etc. Often when we are going through life changing experiences we try and do what Power wives and Moms do ('Man-Up') and act as though everything is fine. At some point and time that act comes to a CLOSE and we Crash and Burn! We then feel trapped, alone, misunderstood and confined within our own minds and hearts. I know because I have been and STILL CONTINUE to endure some …

What this is: A group for those of us who have lost a spouse or a partner to meet up once a month for drinks and casual conversation at neighborhood bars in Chicago. A group for those of us who might feel uncomfortable talking about loss to friends who can't relate. A safe space where you can talk about your spouse or partner or choose not to talk. A place for those of us who have trouble making the adjustment from "we" to "I" What this not: This is not grief therapy. It is not facilitated. ___ …

This group is for people who may be struggling with the recent, or not so recent separation or divorce of their parents. We will meet on a monthly basis to discuss issues we are experiencing that we believe may be related to this distressing life event, and to support each other in a friendly and non-judgmental setting. These will not be professional therapy sessions, but this group will be a great way to connect and heal with people experiencing the loss of their parent's marriage.
Life doesn't end with a divorce or an end of a relationship. You have to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and get back into the game. Nobody will do this for you--only you can. Hopefully this group and its members will facilitate in the transformation of what may look like a dire situation now into an avenue in which you can meet new friends and acquaintances. We are hoping to set up casual Meetups in the southwest suburbs which will include wine tasting, music, dancing, festivals, etc., in …
