Sometimes when we loose someone, we need help navigating life for a while. Everyday things can feel so overwhelming. Sometimes we feel like no one understands what is happening to us and we feel alone. This group can be a place where people understand and support each other. I lost a very dear friend to suicide so I understand the depths of grief. What I have learned is that grief has it’s own timetable. The 4 tasks of grieving can be a helpful roadmap to guide us in the process (1) accepting …

I decided to start a Grief Support Group because on January 23 2011 I lost my soul mate, lover and best friend. I searched for a free ongoing grief support group and was surprised at how few were out there. I couldn't afford to pay for Grief Support and wanted something Free, ongoing, where I could drop in if I wanted to or not. I wanted something similar to the AA / Al-Anon 12 step support group. One where it wasn't affiliated with any group, religion or sect. One where spirituality (Hi …

After my mother-in-law's diagnosis with a terminal illness, I tried to find a support group in our area for my wife and I to attend. I found very few groups for those who are dealing with or who have dealt with the loss of a loved one to terminal illness, so I decided to start one. Our group will welcome those who have recently had someone diagnosed, have recently lost someone, or who is a caregiver to those with terminal conditions. We don't promise or have any sort of clinical background, we s …
My husband, who was a miltary veteran, died 4/3/12. Dealing with his death, government agencies, financial issues, and grief has been a very lonley experience. Untill I found other widows who understood what I was going through. Last month after attending an www.americanwidowsproject.org retreat, I found out I wasn't alone. So I want to start a meetup for widows and widowers in our area. This group is to help us not feel alone and to support each other as we rebuild our lives in the face of trag …

I am starting this group as a way for young widows and widowers to meet and get together to share stories, successes, support each other in figuring out their new "normal" and to laugh and have some fun again.
For the hundreds of singles coming from over 100 churches, our Tuesday night gathering feels like God's "Mile High Miracle!" God says in Isaiah 43:19, "I am going to do something new. It is already happening. Don't you recognize it? I will clear a way in the desert. I will make rivers on dry land." This is an exciting NEW AND GROWING Christ-centered ministry on Tuesday Nights for Single & Single-Again Christians (30s, 40s, 50s plus). The group started in November with 30 people attending but ha …

This is a group for moms who have suffered a loss of a baby or child and who are parenting living children. My goal is to create connections between parents who, despite the devastating loss of their little ones, are hopeful about the future and for healing. We can exchange ideas about how to keep the memory of our little ones alive, as they live on in our hearts. We can also meet for Moms (and/or Dads) nights out, play dates, and other gatherings. I believe that parents who have suffered a loss …

Veterans have, and will successfully readjust to mainstream society, though many are continually finding that adjustment a steep challenge and are tempted to give up, or have already given up. Veterans find that a bridge is needed between the two worlds; in some cases just a few weeks, others lasting up to several years. 'Helping Veterans' aims to reduce the number of stressors inherent in daily life as veterans make this transition, providing a supportive environment in which veterans are able …

This is a group for recently separated/divorced single moms in the Boulder area who are looking for support and friendship through the transition and healing process. Let's get together to talk about strategies for moving on with our lives, how to best support our children through the process and how to use this loss as a means for self-growth. Maybe you're newly separated and there is a possibility for reconciliation and you need other women to help you sort out your emotions. Or maybe you've b …
