The Austin Grief Meetup sponsored by My Healing Place

My Healing Place (www.myhealingplace. org) is a non-profit in Austin devoted to helping people through grief, loss and trauma with the help of support groups. These groups are led by a trained volunteer and all groups are given FREE of charge.

In addition, child care is provided at no charge for children under the age of five years, though reservations are required to access this service.

We currently have groups available for children who have lost a parent and adults who have lost a spouse, motherless daughters, and a widow/widowers group. We will create new grief groups that meet your needs.

Please join us to help gain support from people who have experienced a similar loss to your own.

We meet twice a month on Tuesdays in Central Austin.

Again, there is NO CHARGE for our services. We are here to help. We hope to hear from you soon.

  • "Thank you Denise. I was living in McKinney when my husband was murdered in Dallas on Dec. 31, 2005. I know how tramatic you and your daughter-in-law's lose is. My husband's case is still unsolved, which is something I've had to let go of, but struggle with. We have no control over, well, anything. I'm just trying to get back to living... I look forward to seeing you tonight."

  • "Welcome to our group, Charles! We look forward to meeting you!!"

  • "Hi Cyndi! I am in the group of people who have lost a child. I lost my son 26-year-old son in January of last year; he was the victim of a plane crash. His surviving wife unfortunately lives in Dallas - she continues to suffer in a profound way. The widows/widowers group seems like a very supportive and loving group. I'm glad you're coming!"
