Local meetup of area widows/widowers or those who have lost a significant other. All ages are welcome though the main purpose is to have a place for younger widows/widowers to meet people.

I hope even younger widows/widowers than me will be active. The loss of your partner is the same if you are 60 or 20 and not wanting to give up on life. I hope for this site to enable us to meet new friends we can identify with no matter our age, and a place younger widows/widowers with children to raise as an "only" parent can meet and help one another. Many of us have found that we don't fit in anywhere anymore and our old friends went away since we are not a couple anymore.

We have a monthly dinner and gab session and try to do other fun activites to get out of the house and be with people who understand the loss we have suffered.

This is not a deep grief counseling group, per se. Yes, we will be there for those who are in deep grief to help them through it as much as we can but we are also a social group where we can do things where we "fit in" instead of being alone because we feel we don't fit in the "singles scene" or we feel like we are a 5th wheel now.
